Apple Studios’ Project Expected to Cause Traffic Delays on Route 291

Traffic Advisory

CHESTER, PA — Chester residents and commuters should brace for potential traffic disruptions next week as Apple Studios LLC embarks on a project that will intermittently close lanes on a busy city thoroughfare.

On Thursday, January 18, and Friday, January 19, Route 291, also known as West 2nd Street, will see periodic lane closures from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning. The affected stretch lies between Highland Avenue and Penn Street, a frequently used route in the City of Chester, Delaware County.

Motorists who rely on this route for their commutes are advised to factor in extra time for their travels, as backups and delays are anticipated due to the lane closures. The project’s timing, during off-peak hours, aims to minimize disruption to the majority of daily commuters. However, those traveling during these hours should be prepared for slower than usual traffic conditions.

The upcoming project is being conducted under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit, which allows for temporary disruption of highway use for specific projects or activities. As with any road work project, all scheduled activities are weather dependent, and dates and times may change if weather conditions prove unfavorable.
