LANCASTER, PA — In an intricate case that spans multiple bank branches and cities, a Philadelphia woman has been arrested on allegations of forgery. Naveeda Polk, 39, was arrested in Philadelphia on December 21, 2023, following an arrest warrant obtained on November 29, 2023.

The saga began at the Citizens Bank located at 1415 Lititz Pike, where Polk allegedly attempted to cash a check for $1,995.70. A sharp-eyed witness noted that another check from the same account had been presented earlier at a separate Citizens Bank location. After confirmation from the account holder, that check was found to be fraudulent.

Adding to the intrigue, it was later confirmed that the check Polk was attempting to cash was also allegedly fraudulent. The identity of the woman at the center of these allegations was confirmed when she presented her license to the witness in an attempt to cash the check.

Following these revelations, a criminal complaint was filed, leading to the arrest warrant and subsequent arrest of Polk in Philadelphia. She was arraigned and released after posting $25,000 bail.

While the alleged efforts to defraud Citizens Bank have led to an arrest, it’s important to remember that an arrest, a criminal complaint, or information related to the case is not a declaration of guilt. As with all individuals facing legal allegations, Naveeda Polk is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
