LANCASTER, PAAdvanced Cooling Technologies, Inc. (ACT) has announced that its ICE-Lok™ wedge locks are now spaceflight-proven, following successful integration into Reflex Aerospace’s SIGI satellite platform. With this accomplishment, the ICE-Lok product line has officially reached Technology Readiness Level 9 (TRL 9), marking its demonstrated performance in an operational space environment.

The ICE-Lok wedge lock is a robust, off-the-shelf mounting solution specifically designed for VPX and other embedded computing architectures. Its capacity to handle demanding thermal and mechanical requirements makes it a vital component for high-density electronics in space missions. By efficiently transferring heat while providing exceptional board retention and vibration resistance, ICE-Lok ensures reliable operation under the harsh conditions of space.

“Flight heritage is a critical milestone for any aerospace component,” said Bryan Muzyka, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at ACT. “Having our ICE-Lok product fly on Reflex Aerospace’s SIGI satellite not only validates our design and manufacturing quality but also expands the range of proven solutions ACT offers to the growing NewSpace sector.”

The product’s performance on the SIGI satellite underscores its potential to address evolving challenges in the space industry. This achievement not only bolsters ACT’s reputation as a reliable solutions provider for high-performance space electronics but also expands its footprint within the rapidly growing NewSpace sector.

“Earning flight heritage on Reflex Aerospace’s SIGI satellite is a major milestone for ICE-Lok and a testament to our commitment to supporting the evolving needs of the global space market,” added Adam Say, International Business Development Manager at ACT.

Achieving TRL 9 signals a new chapter for ICE-Lok in advancing space electronics solutions. It represents both a validation of ACT’s innovation and a significant step forward in enhancing the capabilities of spaceborne embedded systems.
