HARRISBURG, PA — The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania has announced that William L. Nalley Jr., 27, from Boiling Springs, and Rafael Orihuela, 22, from Carlisle, were indicted by a federal grand jury on Wednesday. The charges encompass allegations of controlled substance distribution and illegal firearms possession.

United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam specified that the indictment accuses Nalley of possessing marijuana, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), and psilocin with the intention to distribute. Additionally, Nalley is alleged to have possessed two firearms to further his drug trafficking activities. Orihuela is charged with maintaining a premise for the purpose of unlawfully storing, distributing, and using the aforementioned controlled substances.

The investigation leading to these indictments was conducted jointly by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Middlesex Township Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Stephen Dukes is prosecuting the case, illustrating the collaborative effort of federal and local law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes and illegal weapons possession.

Under federal law, Nalley faces a maximum penalty that could extend to life imprisonment, supplemented by a period of supervised release and a potential fine. Orihuela could be subject to up to twenty years in prison, alongside supervised release and a fine, if found guilty.

It is crucial to remember that these are only allegations. An indictment does not equate to guilt. William L. Nalley Jr. and Rafael Orihuela, like all individuals facing criminal charges, are presumed innocent until proven otherwise through judicial proceedings.
