ASHLAND, PA — Pennsylvania State Police held funeral services Wednesday for Trooper Michael E. Pahira Jr., who was killed in the line of duty on July 1, as family members, fellow law enforcement officers, and members of the public gathered to honor the fallen trooper.
The public visitation took place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at North Schuylkill Junior/Senior High School in Ashland, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial services were private.
The funeral was open to the public, while Commonwealth Media Services provided a livestream of the service, which was also broadcast on the Pennsylvania State Police Facebook page for those unable to attend in person.
Trooper Pahira died in the line of duty on July 1. His funeral marked a statewide tribute to his service, drawing members of the law enforcement community and the public to Schuylkill County to pay their respects.
