ERIE, PA — A Pennsylvania resident has been handed an 11-year prison sentence, followed by 10 years of supervised release, for violating federal laws relating to the sexual exploitation of children. This comes in addition to breaching the conditions of his federal supervised release from a prior conviction for receiving child sexual abuse material. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

Thomas Robert Hawk, 42, from Parker, Pennsylvania, received his sentence from United States District Judge Susan Paradise Baxter.

According to court documents, Hawk was found to have possessed and accessed visual images and videos in digital files from August 2021 to May 2022. These files depicted prepubescent minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold on behalf of the government. The successful prosecution of Hawk is the result of the diligent investigative work carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and United States Probation.

United States Attorney Olshan commended these agencies for their role in the investigation that led to Hawk’s successful prosecution.
