ERIE, PA — Jeffrey Colin Rogers, a 60-year-old former resident of Clarendon, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for the sexual exploitation of children. The sentence was announced by United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

In addition to his prison term, Rogers will also face a lifetime of supervised release and has been ordered to pay $8,300 in restitution. The sentencing was handed down by United States District Judge Stephanie Haines.

Evidence presented during the trial revealed that Rogers used his cellphone to take multiple sexually explicit photos of two minors in November 2017. Rogers lured the minors into his Sheffield, Pennsylvania, apartment with marijuana and alcohol before taking the illegal photos, which he then stored on his phone.

The disturbing images were discovered by the Pennsylvania State Police in February 2018 when they executed a search warrant at Rogers’ apartment and seized his phone. Rogers’ arrest and subsequent conviction underline the seriousness of crimes involving the sexual exploitation of children and the relentless efforts by law enforcement agencies to apprehend and prosecute offenders.

Assistant United States Attorney Christian A. Trabold prosecuted Rogers’ case on behalf of the government. United States Attorney Olshan praised the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Pennsylvania State Police for their diligent investigation, which led to the successful prosecution of Rogers.
