HARRISBURG, PA  — Raymond Mikelonis, a 67-year-old resident of Penfield, Clearfield County, was sentenced to 15 to 40 years in prison for offenses related to child pornography. Attorney General Michelle Henryon made the announcement on Thursday.

Mikelonis entered a guilty plea on charges including possession and distribution of child pornography as well as criminal use of a communication facility. Highlighting the severity of his offenses, the sentencing judge classified him as a sexually violent predator, a designation that carries with it a lifetime requirement for sex offender registration.

This sentencing marks Mikelonis’ third conviction involving sexual misconduct toward minors, with his criminal history already encompassing child sexual assault and possession of child pornography. The repetitive nature of these crimes led Attorney General Henry to remark on Mikelonis’ apparent resistance to rehabilitation and the continued threat he poses to public safety. “These videos and images perpetuate the abuse and corruption of minors, and my office will do everything in our power to protect children and hold abusers accountable,” Henry stated, emphasizing the broader implications of child pornography on victims and society.

The conviction stemmed from an investigation by the Office of Attorney General, which traced the download of child pornography files to a computer registered under Mikelonis’ IP address. A subsequent search warrant executed at his home led to the discovery of incriminating files on his computer, solidifying the case against him. Senior Deputy Attorney General Angela Raver led the prosecution.
