CHESTER, PA — The Chester Water Authority (CWA) has once again claimed top honors at the 2026 Best Tasting Water in Pennsylvania competition, securing both the Best of Pennsylvania Taste Test and the People’s Choice Award at the annual Pennsylvania American Water Works Association (PA AWWA) Conference held this year in State College, PA on May 5th. This marks an exceptional return to the top for CWA, adding to its championship record with wins in 2023, 2024, and now 2026—solidifying its reputation as a leader in water quality across the state.
Water providers from across Pennsylvania gathered for the annual conference, where one of the most anticipated events is the blind taste-testing competition. CWA stood out among its peers, earning top recognition in both categories:
- People’s Choice Award, determined by blind voting from conference attendees
- Celebrity Judges Panel Award, selected by independent expert tasters
CWA will now advance to the national competition to be held at the 2026 AWWA Annual Conference and Exposition in Washington D.C., which will be held on June 22 – 25.
“This recognition reflects the dedication of our team and our commitment to delivering superior quality water at an affordable price,” said Noël Brandon, Chairperson of the CWA Board. “As a ratepayer-owned, independent municipal water authority, we are deeply invested in the communities we serve. Water is essential to life, and we take great pride in providing the highest quality water to help our communities thrive.”
These achievements reflect CWA’s ongoing commitment to their communities in Chester County, Delaware County, and the City of Chester. CWA’s mission is to safeguard public health and ensure access to clean, safe, and affordable drinking water. As the authority continues to innovate and maintain the highest standards, it serves as a model for water utilities across Pennsylvania and the nation.
