PITTSBURGH, PA — A resident of Brownsville, Pennsylvania has been sentenced to federal prison following his conviction for violating federal firearms laws. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan on Friday, January 12, 2024.
Deago Lee Eddings, a former resident of Brownsville, was sentenced to 27 months of imprisonment for his federal firearms conviction. His federal sentence will be served consecutively to the term of incarceration for his state parole violation related to the same conduct. In total, Eddings will be incarcerated for at least 45 months for his actions. Following his incarceration, Judge Marilyn J. Horan further sentenced Eddings to the maximum term of three years of federal supervised release.
Eddings’ violation of federal firearms law took place on September 16, 2020. At that time, Eddings had recently completed his state sentence and was on state parole. Despite being a convicted felon, Eddings pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition in May 2023. It is illegal under federal law for an individual who has been convicted of a felony to possess a firearm.
The case against Eddings was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Nicole Ann Stockey. The investigation leading to Eddings’ successful prosecution was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Brentwood Borough Police Department.
