In response to the coordinated terrorist attacks launched against Israel by Hamas, U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today voiced his strong condemnation and extended his support to Israel. Senator Casey emphasized the need for the United States to stand with Israel in its right to self-defense.

“Hamas has initiated a coordinated terrorist attack on Israel, beginning with the firing of thousands of rockets at innocent Israelis and continuing with violence throughout the day,” Casey said. “This is a tragic day with hundreds already dead and countless Israeli and Palestinian civilians at risk due to this needless slaughter.”

Echoing Senator Casey’s sentiments, President Joe Biden also condemned the appalling assault against Israel by Hamas terrorists from Gaza. In a conversation with Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Biden reassured him of the United States’ unwavering support for Israel’s security and its right to defend its people.

“Terrorism is never justified. Israel has a right to defend itself and its people,” said President Biden. “The United States warns against any other party hostile to Israel seeking advantage in this situation. My administration’s support for Israel’s security is rock solid and unwavering.”

President Biden further expressed his heartfelt condolences for the lives tragically lost in this violence and wished for a swift recovery for all those who have been wounded. He assured that his team is closely monitoring the situation and will continue to stay in touch with Prime Minister Netanyahu.

This firm stance by the United States government underscores its commitment to standing by its allies and condemning acts of terrorism. As the situation continues to unfold, the world watches closely, hoping for a peaceful resolution to this violent conflict.
