WASHINGTON, D.C. — The United States Mint began taking orders Sept. 3 for a 2026 one-ounce palladium American Eagle capped at 5,000 coins, using a one-year 250th-anniversary design to create a tightly limited collector issue tied to the nation’s semiquincentennial.
The uncirculated coin contains one troy ounce of 99.95% fine palladium and carries a $25 denomination. It was struck at the West Point Mint and bears the “W” mint mark.
The 2026 issue adds a Liberty Bell privy mark containing the numeral “250” and the dual dates “1776 ~ 2026,” distinguishing it from earlier versions of the American Eagle palladium series.
The Mint initially limited orders to one coin per household during the first 24 hours of sales. The product listing separately states a mintage and product limit of 5,000 coins.
Pricing is tied to the Mint’s pricing range table, which adjusts certain precious-metal coin prices according to market conditions.
The coin is the collector version of the American Eagle one-ounce palladium bullion coin first introduced in 2017.
Its obverse uses a high-relief rendition of Adolph A. Weinman’s Winged Liberty design from the Mercury Dime. The inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” the dual dates and Weinman’s initials.
The reverse uses a high-relief adaptation of Weinman’s 1907 American Institute of Architects Gold Medal reverse, depicting an eagle and branch. It carries the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “$25,” “1 OZ. Pd,” “.9995 FINE” and “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
The coin measures 1.340 inches, or 34.03 millimeters, in diameter and has a reeded edge.
Each coin is encapsulated and packaged in a presentation case with a certificate of authenticity.
The combination of a fixed 5,000-coin mintage, one-year anniversary markings and one-ounce palladium content positions the 2026 issue as a limited numismatic product rather than a broad bullion offering.
