WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Monday, NextGen America officially kicked off its 2025 Pride campaign to honor the accomplishments of the LGBTQIA+ community while advocating for equality and inclusivity. The organization is hosting a series of events online and in local communities throughout June to educate and mobilize young people across the country.

Central to this year’s initiative is a virtual Pride Week of Action, scheduled to begin on June 23. This series of online events aims to provide education, build momentum, and celebrate the diversity within the LGBTQIA+ community. During the campaign, NextGen America will also organize digital actions encouraging young voters to engage directly with legislators by calling and writing in support of policies that protect queer youth.

On the ground, the organization’s staff will have a presence at various Pride celebrations around the nation to connect with young voters and inspire participation in the fight for LGBTQIA+ rights.

“NextGen America is proud to uplift queer and trans youth this Pride and year-round,” said Victoria Yang, Interim President of NextGen America. “While Trump and his Administration try to scapegoat the queer community for the issues facing our generation, young people know who the real villains are – the Trump Administration and its billionaire backers. Despite their attacks on our freedoms, young people remain committed to protecting the voices of everyone. This Pride, we remain grounded in joy and resistance and we won’t stop fighting for the freedom to be ourselves and pursue our dreams.”

The significance of engaging young voters is highlighted by statistics showing that nearly 30% of Gen Z adults identify as LGBTQIA+. Throughout Pride month, NextGen will amplify its message via Instagram, featuring posts on anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation, content created by queer influencers, and insights into LGBTQIA+ history and culture.
