WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Federal Trade Commission is distributing more than $672,000 to 9,419 consumers who were allegedly deceived by Trend Deploy operator Frank Romero, returning money collected through conduct previously challenged by the agency.
The FTC is sending the refunds by check. Recipients must cash their checks within 90 days of the date printed on them.

The FTC cautioned that it does not require consumers to pay money or provide account information to receive a refund.
The agency also advised consumers that it will not demand payment, threaten them, direct them to transfer money or promise a prize. Suspected fraud may be reported at ReportFraud.ftc.gov, while broader consumer guidance is available at consumer.ftc.gov.
