Lauren Streubert Joins Chester County HR: A Bold Step Toward Empowering Local Workforce

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Commissioners have announced the appointment of Lauren Streubert, SHRM-SCP, as the new Director of Human Resources for the County of Chester. Streubert brings over 20 years of experience from Citadel Credit Union, where she held key roles such as Human Resources Manager, Director of Human Resources, and ultimately Vice President of Human Resources.

“Lauren’s extensive human resources expertise will be invaluable to our large workforce,” said Commissioner Chair Josh Maxwell. “We are confident she will foster respect, employee engagement, and high performance across the organization.”

Commissioner Marian Moskowitz highlighted Streubert’s alignment with county needs, stating, “Her experience leading a large HR department—including strategic planning, program development, and DEI initiatives at Citadel—is a perfect fit for managing Chester County’s governmental demands.”

Under CEO David Byerman’s direction, Streubert will oversee a team of 16 employees responsible for managing benefits for 2,400 full-time staff, recruitment efforts, training programs, and workplace safety compliance. Byerman emphasized Streubert’s standout qualities during the selection process, noting her “belief in empowering employees, mission-driven leadership, and dedication to growth and development.”

Commissioner Eric Roe praised Streubert’s deep ties to the community, adding, “Her long-standing residency in Chester County combined with her professional expertise ensures she is uniquely equipped to fulfill our HR needs while understanding the role of county government in serving our community.”

Streubert holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Albright College and a Master of Science in Administration with a focus on Human Resources Management from West Chester University. A Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP), she is also a graduate of Leadership Chester County and an active member of the Chester County HireOne Task Force.
