WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County Government has launched a redesigned version of its official website, chesco.org, aimed at improving navigation, streamlining searches, and enhancing usability on mobile devices and tablets.
The site serves as a central hub for the county’s 39 departments, courts, and related services, providing residents with access to programs and resources ranging from public health updates to marriage licenses. In 2024, the website logged 1.8 million page views and more than 40,000 monthly visitors.
“At Chester County, we are committed to fostering participatory democracy and active community engagement,” said County CEO David Byerman. “This website refresh delivers a more welcoming and accessible experience, ensuring our government communicates clearly and connects with people on the technology platforms they use every day.”
Nearly 60 percent of visits to chesco.org now come from phones and tablets, making the mobile-first design a central feature of the upgrade. Department icons have been updated to align with the county’s branding, while Health, Emergency Services, and Parks + Preservation pages now offer enhanced resources on public health alerts, preparedness tools, and park information.
The redesign also introduces a “Community” section featuring county demographics, history, municipal listings, and interactive maps for schools and trails. A “How do I…” menu directs users to popular services, including license applications, ballot requests, property searches, library access, and sign-ups for county news and emergency notifications.
Chester County, recognized nationally as a Top-Ten Digital County, credits enhancements like these with strengthening access to essential services. Among the site’s most visited pages are jury service, emergency incidents, records searches, marriage licenses, and seasonal information such as election updates and vaccine clinics.
The updated website is available at www.chesco.org.
