MALVERN, PA — Wounds, a leading peer-reviewed journal focused on wound care and research, has announced the formation of an International Editorial Board (IEB). The move aims to extend the journal’s global reach and incorporate diverse perspectives into its editorial process.

Published by healthcare events and education company HMP Global and indexed in MEDLINE/PubMED, Wounds provides critical research on tissue repair, wound healing biology and biochemistry, and clinical management of various wound causes. The newly established IEB comprises esteemed experts from Asia, Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia, with plans for continuous expansion.

IEB members are expected to serve as resources to editors, promote Wounds within their regions, author unique articles for the journal, and suggest regional topics of interest.

Editor-in-Chief John C. Lantis II, MD, FACS, expressed his excitement about the journal’s expanded reach. “The fresh, new perspectives will bring tremendous value to our readers, resulting in a better understanding of technology and the varied environmental impact on wounds,” said Lantis, who is also the Site-Chief of Surgery at the Mount Sinai West Hospital in New York City and a professor of surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

The formation of the IEB follows Wounds’ 2023 transition to an all-digital, continuous publication model, providing academic libraries and global audiences easier access to its research. Later this year, the journal plans to publish ‘International Perspectives’ articles, highlighting geographically diverse treatments of both common and unique disease states.

Wounds serves practitioners dealing with traumatic wounds, surgical and non-skin wounds, burn injuries, diabetic and venous ulcers, and various chronic wound conditions. Its multidisciplinary readership includes dermatologists, surgeons, internal medicine and family practitioners, podiatrists, gerontologists, industry and academic researchers, orthopedic surgeons, infectious disease physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.

The full list of the International Editorial Board members can be viewed on the Wounds section of the HMP Global Learning Network website.
