Caputo & Guest Launches Direct-to-Consumer Mushroom Website

Caputo & Guest

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Caputo & Guest said it has launched a direct-to-consumer website to sell its organic specialty mushrooms nationwide, expanding access to its Pennsylvania-grown products.

The family-owned grower said the platform allows customers to purchase mushrooms cultivated at its Kennett Square facility and shipped directly to consumers.

Caputo & Guest uses a manure-free cultivation process based on a blend of oak and poplar sawdust with grains, rather than traditional compost methods, the company said.

The company said its indoor growing system is designed to produce mushrooms year-round while managing water use and waste.

“We built Caputo & Guest on the belief that controlled-environment agriculture can produce exceptional food,” said Jeffery D. Guest Jr., general manager.

The website offers products including lion’s mane and oyster mushrooms, along with recipes and educational content.

Caputo & Guest, founded in 1977, operates in Kennett Square, a region known for mushroom production, and distributes products grown entirely in the United States.

The company said the direct-to-consumer platform is intended to connect customers with locally grown products and expand its distribution beyond traditional retail channels.
