EXTON, PA — Universal Technical Institute (UTI) has announced a strategic partnership with MileOne Autogroup, a major player in the automotive sales and service sector. This collaboration will see the introduction of an early employment program at UTI’s Exton, PA, and Mooresville, NC campuses, specifically designed for students enrolled in the automotive technology program.

The initiative allows selected students from UTI-Exton and NASCAR Tech to engage in 20 to 30 hours of paid work each week at MileOne, giving them a head start in their careers even before graduation. Moreover, those who continue their employment with MileOne post-graduation are set to benefit from enticing incentives, such as up to $350 in monthly tuition reimbursement and access to a tool incentive program.

Steve McElfresh, the president of UTI-Exton campus, emphasized the program’s role in preparing students for the demands of today’s workforce. “Our goal is to help our students embark on rewarding careers in fields where skilled professionals are in high demand,” he stated. Echoing this sentiment, Robert Kessler, NASCAR Tech campus president and regional vice president, highlighted the importance of the partnership in expanding the Early Employment Program, fostering a seamless transition for students into lucrative careers.

MileOne Autogroup, recognized as the largest automotive sales and service delivery network in the Mid-Atlantic, brings a wealth of opportunities to the table. With 66 franchises across 24 automotive brands and 48 service centers spread over five states, MileOne’s extensive footprint offers a promising pathway for UTI students to gain invaluable real-world experience.

Courtney Zacharias, director of talent acquisition at MileOne, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “We have several locations near the UTI-Exton and NASCAR Tech campuses, which positions us well to work closely with the students, offering them practical work experience and a potential future within the MileOne family,” she said.

This partnership arrives at a critical time, with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projecting an annual demand for 67,700 automotive service technicians and mechanics through 2032. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, the need for skilled technicians is more pronounced than ever. Through initiatives like the early employment program with MileOne, UTI is not only addressing this demand but also ensuring its students are well-equipped to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future head-on.
