MALVERN, PA — Rajant Health Incorporated (RHI) has been granted a new patent for its innovative Parallel Adaptive Motion Artifact Removal technology, marking a major advancement in wearable health monitoring systems. The patented solution addresses the long-standing issue of “motion artifacts,” ensuring more precise vital sign measurements during activity.

“This patent is a testament to the ingenuity and dedication of our team at Rajant Health,” said Robert Schena, CEO of RHI. “By solving the motion artifact challenge, we’re empowering healthcare professionals with more precise vital sign data and opening doors for industrial applications where safety and efficiency depend on real-time insights. It’s a proud moment that reinforces our mission to transform healthcare technology.”

The technology applies adaptive filters guided by motion sensors to clean up photoplethysmography (PPG) signals, ensuring accurate measurements of heart rates during movement. With further processing, the system achieves impressive accuracy, delivering heart rate readings within two beats per minute even during high-intensity activity. Testing revealed an average error of just 1.12 beats per minute, rivaling the precision of finger-mounted devices.

Beyond healthcare, the new technology has potential in industrial settings where worker health, safety, and wellness are critical. It enables real-time tracking in active environments, offering key insights to support both safety and operational efficiency.

“I’m excited to see this technology come to life! The CPC architecture we developed takes wearable health monitoring to a new level, ensuring accurate computing during movement,” said Jack Mountney, DSP Engineer and key inventor behind the patent. “This technology is a game-changer for patients and clinicians alike, and it’s rewarding to know it can make a real difference in people’s lives.”
