WAYNE, PA — Radian Group Inc. (NYSE: RDN) completed the sale of its Real Estate Services business to PLACE and agreed to sell its Title business to the same buyer, moves expected to finish the insurer’s exit from non-core operations and concentrate the company on mortgage and specialty insurance.
The Title transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter, subject to customary conditions and required regulatory approvals. Financial terms of both transactions were not disclosed.
The two businesses had been reported within Radian’s “All Other” category. Their divestiture follows a strategic review completed in 2025 that led the company to reposition itself as a broader global specialty insurer.
Radian Chief Executive Officer Rick Thornberry stated that the sales allow the company to focus on its mortgage insurance franchise and specialty insurance operations.
“These actions mark an important milestone for Radian and reflect continued execution of the strategic plan we announced following our comprehensive strategic review in 2025,” Thornberry stated.
That strategic shift included Radian’s $1.67 billion acquisition of Inigo, a Lloyd’s specialty insurer, which closed in February 2026.
The Inigo transaction expanded Radian beyond its traditional U.S. private mortgage insurance business and into global specialty insurance markets.
Mike Weinbach, Radian’s CEO-elect, stated that the company’s mortgage insurance and specialty insurance businesses provide a foundation for future capital allocation and expansion into diversified global markets.
PLACE, a real estate technology and services platform, has already taken ownership of Radian’s Real Estate Services business and expects to add the Title operation after regulatory clearance.
PLACE co-founder and CEO Ben Kinney stated that the acquired businesses bring customer relationships and capabilities that complement the company’s technology-enabled services for real estate professionals, homeowners and institutional clients.
