EXTON, PA — Innovative Aerosystems (Nasdaq: ISSC) joined the Russell 2000 Index on June 29, positioning the Exton-based avionics manufacturer for greater exposure to institutional investors and index-linked capital.
The addition occurred during FTSE Russell’s 2026 index reconstitution. The company was also placed in the applicable Russell growth and value indexes.
Russell 2000 membership is determined through inclusion in the broader Russell 3000 Index, which tracks the largest publicly traded U.S. companies by market capitalization. The Russell 2000 comprises the smaller companies within that universe.
Index inclusion can generate additional demand for a stock because investment funds designed to replicate the benchmark must hold its constituent companies. Active managers also use Russell indexes to compare portfolio performance and guide investment decisions.
About $12.2 trillion in assets were benchmarked against Russell U.S. indexes as of June 2025, according to FTSE Russell data cited by the company.
Chief Executive Officer Shahram Askarpour called the addition an important milestone that should increase the company’s visibility among institutional investors.
“This is an important milestone in our company’s evolution and is a direct reflection of the important progress we have made against our strategic priorities and the long-term investments we have been making to scale our business,” Askarpour said.
Innovative Solutions & Support Inc., which operates as Innovative Aerosystems, develops and manufactures avionics for commercial, business and military aircraft. Its products include navigation systems, cockpit and mission displays, air-data instruments, autothrottles, flight-control computers and situational-awareness software.
The company supplies aircraft manufacturers and aftermarket customers serving fixed-wing aircraft and rotorcraft.
