MALVERN, PA — Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) has introduced the DLA 04051 series of vPolyTan™ polymer surface-mount chip capacitors, developed to meet the stringent demands of aerospace, military, and space (AMS) applications. The new series is fully compliant with the latest Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) 04051 military specifications, underscoring Vishay’s ongoing commitment to reliability in mission-critical environments.
The DLA 04051 series delivers ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR) — as low as 25 milliohms — providing a significant performance advantage over traditional tantalum capacitors. The components are engineered for use in power supplies, radios, radars, transponders, and energy storage systems where stable operation and durability are paramount.
Offering a broad capacitance range from 4.7 μF to 680 μF and voltage ratings from 2.5 V to 63 V, the capacitors undergo extensive reliability testing, including 2,000 hours of operation at 125°C. Vishay also emphasized the product’s mechanical resilience, with shock resistance up to 500 g, vibration endurance in accordance with MIL-STD-202-204 Level D, and successful performance across 10 thermal shock cycles as defined by MIL-STD-202-107.
The DLA 04051 series positions Vishay as a true second-source alternative to existing Yageo/Kemet components, ensuring supply chain stability and compatibility for defense and aerospace manufacturers.
Vishay’s latest release expands its growing AMS portfolio, supporting the industry’s increasing demand for compact, high-efficiency, and rigorously qualified electronic components.
