Rajant Unveils Peregrine FE1-2255X, Its Most Advanced Industrial Wireless Node

Rajant Corporation

MALVERN, PARajant Corporation has introduced its most advanced industrial-grade BreadCrumb node, the Peregrine FE1-2255X, designed to meet the rising performance demands of edge network applications in sectors such as mining, construction, ports, and defense.

Engineered for high throughput, low latency, and enhanced security, the Peregrine is built to support data-intensive operations across large-scale, high-density environments. Leveraging Rajant’s patented InstaMesh® networking technology, it ensures continuous, real-time connectivity for tele-remote and autonomous systems operating in harsh or remote conditions.

“The launch of Peregrine is about preparing our customers’ networks for what’s next,” said Andrew Martin, Director of Product Management at Rajant. “Designed with performance, security, and flexibility at its core, Peregrine enables more devices and data-heavy applications to run resiliently. Fewer infrastructure nodes and faster deployment lowers costs, while its intelligent edge integration ensures a solution that evolves with our customers’ needs.”

The new model delivers higher spectral efficiency, wider DFS-enabled channels, and leading uplink capacity, allowing industrial operators to reduce downtime, boost autonomous equipment performance, and cut predictive maintenance costs by up to 20%. With up to 1-watt transmit power and robust long-distance links, Peregrine increases bandwidth while minimizing channel reuse.

Key upgrades include Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax) support, MU-MIMO for simultaneous uploads and downloads, 1024 QAM spectral efficiency, 160 MHz channels, and a combined PHY data rate of 3.5 Gbps. It also maintains backward compatibility with existing Rajant infrastructure, simplifying network upgrades and expansions.
