DEVON, PA — Private equity firm L2 Capital announced its acquisition of Kosmos Q, a leader in the barbecue industry known for its high-quality rubs, sauces, and accessories. Alongside this acquisition, Scott Jensen has been named as the new CEO. Kosmos Q, established in 2009 by world champion pitmaster Darian ‘Kosmo’ Khosravi, has carved a niche in the competitive barbecue community and expanded into a premium brand beloved by enthusiasts nationwide.

Under the guidance of Kosmo, the company has thrived on innovation and customer engagement, developing products that have transformed the barbecue experience for both competition cooks and home enthusiasts. With a robust online presence, Kosmos Q boasts over 27 million YouTube views and a vast social media following. Its products are available directly to consumers and through major retailers like Wal-Mart and Bass Pro Shops.

Scott Jensen, co-founder of Stubb’s BBQ, brings a wealth of experience from the food and beverage industry to his new role at Kosmos Q. Accompanied by sales leader Terry Meyer, Jensen aims to deepen the brand’s retail footprint and continue its growth trajectory. L2 Capital partner Connor McMahan expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Khosravi and confidence in Jensen’s leadership to broaden the brand’s reach.

Khosravi praised L2 Capital for aligning with Kosmos Q’s values and commitment to quality, expressing excitement over Jensen’s appointment. Jensen echoed this sentiment, expressing eagerness to lead and expand a brand for which he has a strong passion.

The transaction, supported by Oxer Capital Partners and Salem Investment Partners through debt financing and co-investment, represents a significant step in Kosmos Q’s expansion. While terms were not disclosed, the move signals a promising future for the brand in the burgeoning barbecue market.
