BERWYN, PA — AMETEK (NYSE: AME) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire First Aviation Services, expanding the company’s defense and aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations.
First Aviation provides maintenance and overhaul services for defense and aviation components, including advanced electronics, rotor blades, propellers, landing gear, and flight controls. The company also designs and manufactures proprietary components used across defense and aviation platforms.
AMETEK Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Zapico said the acquisition expands the company’s component repair and overhaul capabilities in mission-critical aviation markets.
“First Aviation is a strong strategic fit with our MRO platform, providing attractive market expansion opportunities and broadening the scope of our component MRO services,” Zapico said.
First Aviation generates approximately $80 million in annual sales and operates six facilities across the United States.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
AMETEK, headquartered in Berwyn, reported annual sales of approximately $7.5 billion and operates across industrial technology and engineered product markets.
