PHILADELPHIA, PA — Citadel Credit Union will become the official credit union of Drexel Athletics beginning with the 2026-27 season, using a multiyear sponsorship to broaden its Philadelphia presence as it adds branches in the city.
The agreement will place Citadel’s logo on Sam Cozen Court at the Daskalakis Athletic Center and extend the credit union’s branding across Drexel basketball broadcasts, athletic facilities, digital channels and campus events.
The partnership comes as Citadel expands beyond its existing regional footprint. The credit union recently opened its first full-service Philadelphia branch in Overbrook Park and plans a second location in Cedar Park in late 2026. A third city branch is also planned, though its location has not been disclosed.
Citadel will receive rotational ribbon-board advertising and in-game promotions during Drexel men’s and women’s basketball games, as well as a men’s basketball game sponsorship.
The agreement also includes signage at the Vidas Athletic Complex, digital and social media campaigns, exposure during NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcasts and activations on Lancaster Walk.
Citadel and Drexel plan to develop financial wellness programs for students and athletes. The credit union will also have access to future name, image and likeness opportunities involving Drexel athletes.
“As we continue to grow our presence in the city, this partnership gives us a meaningful way to connect with students, families, alumni and fans,” Citadel President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Brown said.
Drexel Vice President and Director of Athletics and Recreation Maisha Kelly described the agreement as a platform for engaging the university and the broader Philadelphia region while supporting the athletic department’s brand and student-athlete programs.
Additional details about game-day promotions, financial education and other campus activities are expected before the 2026-27 season.
Sam Cozen Court was dedicated in 2005 in honor of the former Drexel basketball coach. The Daskalakis Athletic Center received new video boards, scorers’ tables, production facilities and updated audio and lighting systems in 2022.
