MALVERN, PA — The much-anticipated Evolution of Psychotherapy conference, presented by HMP Global, is set to make its grand return to Anaheim, California for the first time in six years. The five-day event, scheduled from December 12-17, 2023, is being hailed as the most awaited psychotherapy event of the year, featuring a lineup of world-renowned psychotherapists and mental health experts.
The Evolution of Psychotherapy conference is the official meeting of the Milton H. Erickson Foundation. The conference’s educational program boasts over 90 sessions led by more than 40 globally recognized speakers. Attendees can look forward to a diverse range of educational tracks, including clinical demonstrations, conversation hours, invited addresses, great conversation sessions, speeches, invited panels, in-depth workshops, keynotes, and two pre-conferences.
Dr. Jeff Zeig, Director of the Milton H. Erickson Foundation, expressed his excitement about the conference’s return to Anaheim. He emphasized that the meeting aims to address current challenges in mental health, explore best practices and new therapeutic approaches, and cater to the needs of practicing clinicians.
Notably, the conference will kick off with two pre-conference workshops on December 12. The first, focusing on Ethics, will be presented by Denise A. Beagley, MSC of Banner University Health Plans. The second workshop, led by Dr. Zeig, will showcase Masters of Psychotherapy, featuring video clips of master therapists including Milton Erickson, Virginia Satir, James Masterson, and Salvador Minuchin.
Keynote speakers for this year’s event include distinguished psychologists John Gottman, PhD, and Julie Gottman, PhD; best-selling author and visual thinking researcher Temple Grandin, PhD; composer, conductor, and author Rob Kapilow; family and strategic therapy teacher Cloe Madanes, LIC, HDL; job burnout researcher Christina Maslach, PhD; cognitive behavioral therapy expert Donald Meichenbaum, PhD; positive psychology authority Martin Seligman, PhD; award-winning educator Dan Seigel, MD; and renowned poet, philosopher, and speaker David Whyte.
Participants can earn more than 125 continuing education credits at this year’s meeting. The conference also offers career advancement opportunities through a career fair, complimentary professional headshots, networking sessions, and book signings during Authors Hour in the Exhibit Hall.
