PAOLI, PA — Goodness Bowls will mark its expansion into Paoli with an Oct. 17 grand opening for its 1,300-square-foot café, adding another fast-casual option for açaí bowls, smoothies and other health-focused foods while directing a portion of event proceeds to type 1 diabetes research and advocacy.
The café at 5 Paoli Plaza opened in July and is owned by East Goshen resident Heather MacFarland Wellock. The location serves açaí bowls, smoothies, salads, wraps, toast and specialty coffee.
The grand opening will run from 9 a.m. to noon and begin with a ribbon cutting. The first 50 guests in line who enroll in the company’s rewards program will receive a free Avalon Bowl.
The event will also feature a DJ, face painting, balloon art, giveaways and raffle prizes.
A portion of proceeds from the grand opening will benefit the Greater Delaware Valley Chapter of Breakthrough T1D, which supports type 1 diabetes research and advocacy.
MacFarland Wellock, a certified yoga instructor and mother of four, became familiar with Goodness Bowls as a customer at its Avalon location before pursuing the opportunity to operate a café.
“As a busy mom with kids in multiple sports, I know how much local families are seeking convenient, healthy options,” MacFarland Wellock said. “I’m excited to bring that to Paoli and look forward to welcoming new members to the Goodness Bowls community.”
The Paoli café is also hiring. Job information and applications are available at https://www.goodnessbowls.com/careers/.
