EXTON, PA — The much-anticipated Wawa store at 690 East Lincoln Highway, Exton, PA is set to open its doors for the first time on December 14th. The grand opening festivities will commence at 7:45 a.m., led by General Manager John Luidens, culminating in an official door-opening at 8:00 a.m.
The first 100 customers will receive limited-edition “Wawa Coffee, Hoagies & Kindness” t-shirts, while supplies last. All customers can enjoy free coffee throughout the day.
“We all have a role in making this world a better place,” said Chris Gheysens, Wawa’s CEO. “Our associates deliver experiences and often create emotional connections with customers that go beyond what traditionally happens in a retail environment, and we look forward to welcoming old friends and making new ones in this wonderful community!”
The grand opening will feature a community toast and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m., featuring Wawa’s mascot Wally Goose, oversized scissors, red ribbon, confetti, and fanfare.
Adding a charitable aspect to the event, Wawa will host a Hoagies for Heroes hoagie-building competition. Local first responders from West Whiteland Police Department and West Whiteland Fire Company will compete, with Wawa donating $1,000 to each department’s charity of choice.
John Luidens will lead the new Exton Wawa store, bringing approximately 50 new full- and part-time positions to the area. Associates will receive competitive salaries, health benefits, and participate in Wawa’s employee stock ownership plan (ESOP).
The new store boasts a built-to-order, fresh food kitchen featuring signature hoagies, award-winning Wawa coffee, a bakery, and a line of specialty beverages. Customers can also access Wawa’s offerings through mobile ordering, curbside pickup, delivery options, and its new catering service.
The Exton location is part of Wawa’s plan to open up to 66 new stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and Florida in 2023. Wawa also announced its future expansion to multiple states, with more details on those new locations expected soon.
