PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Tower Health has announced the appointment of Dr. Richard McLaughlin as the President and Chief Executive Officer of both Phoenixville Hospital and Pottstown Hospital. With a tenure at Tower Health that spans over two decades, Dr. McLaughlin brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to advancing healthcare in these communities.

Dr. McLaughlin’s journey with Tower Health began in 1999 when he joined Pottstown Hospital as an attending Emergency Medicine physician. He ascended to the role of Chairman and Medical Director of Emergency Medicine in 2005 and was later appointed Chief Medical Officer of Pottstown Hospital in 2015, eventually extending his influence to Phoenixville Hospital in 2022. His leadership was also recognized outside the hospital setting during his tenure as President and CEO of Tri-County Emergency Physicians from 2007 to 2019.

A graduate of Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, Dr. McLaughlin completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He also holds an MBA from the University of Massachusetts, equipping him with a robust foundation in both medical and business administration.

With over 25 years of residence in Phoenixville, Dr. McLaughlin’s personal and professional roots run deep in the community he now pledges to serve in his new capacity.
