The Fund for Women and Girls Names Cheryl Brubaker as New Executive Director

WEST CHESTER, PAThe Fund for Women and Girls has appointed Cheryl Brubaker as its new Executive Director, effective July 15, 2024. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to empowering women and girls in Chester County through grantmaking and advocacy.

Cheryl Brubaker previously served as the Executive Director of the Women’s Resource Center. She brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to gender equity. With over seven years in nonprofit leadership at the Women’s Resource Center, she has driven impactful initiatives and fostered sustainable growth.

Brubaker’s career spans over 25 years in the nonprofit sector. Her background includes executive administration, fund development, programming, communications, and marketing. She has held leadership positions with Women Against Abuse in Philadelphia, the Victim Services Center in Norristown, the Sellersville Theater, and the YMCA of Bucks County. She holds a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Eastern University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia.

In her new role, Brubaker will oversee all aspects of The Fund for Women and Girls’ operations. This includes strategic planning, program development, fundraising, and community engagement. She will work closely with the Board of Directors and staff to advance the organization’s mission. The Fund aims to lead and unite the community through philanthropy and advocacy, ensuring women and girls have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.

“Having walked side by side with numerous individuals battling the effects of gender disparity and discrimination in their everyday lives, I am excited to work with The Fund and its nonprofit, corporate, and governmental partners to address such challenges at a systems level,” said Brubaker. “Everyone, irrespective of their gender, deserves the resources and opportunity to earn a living wage, to have access to the resources they need to thrive, and to live safely.”
