EXTON, PA — Bentley Systems( Nasdaq: BSY) promoted Andy Rahden to chief revenue officer as the infrastructure engineering software maker seeks to translate increased artificial intelligence adoption into its next phase of commercial growth.
Rahden succeeds Brock Ballard, Bentley stated. The company did not provide additional details about Ballard’s departure or an effective date for the leadership change.
Rahden joined Bentley in 2023 and most recently served as senior vice president of Solution Engineering and Services. He led a global organization of application engineers, solution architects, consultants and technical account managers working with major customers on integrating new technologies into their operations.
The appointment puts an executive with technical sales experience in charge of revenue as Bentley seeks closer coordination between customers and its product teams around AI deployment.
“Leading the adoption of AI in infrastructure requires deep account intimacy and a fast feedback loop with our product teams,” Chief Executive Officer Nicholas Cumins said.
Cumins also tied the management change to Bentley’s growth strategy and maintained the company’s existing expectations for the year.
“Andy’s technical sales pedigree and entrepreneurial mindset make him uniquely equipped to sustain our momentum and drive our next wave of growth from AI,” Cumins said. “Given our confidence in our full-year outlook, this is the right time for this transition.”
Before joining Bentley, Rahden was chief executive officer of educational technology company Shmoop. He previously founded Pluralsight’s Creative, Design and Engineering group, where Bentley stated he helped increase revenue fourfold before Pluralsight’s 2018 initial public offering.
Rahden also led global technical sales teams at Autodesk and earlier worked in water infrastructure design at Baker Hughes and in sales management for a SolidWorks distributor.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah.
