The Institutes CPCU Society

MALVERN, PA — The Institutes CPCU Society has approved the formation of two new international chapters in Romania and West Africa, marking the organization’s first chapter expansion in 20 years and a significant step in its global growth strategy.

Approved on November 3, the new chapters extend the Society’s reach to 121 chapters worldwide, including six international groups spanning Bermuda, Europe, Japan, Korea, Romania, and West Africa. The Society now has members in 51 countries, with 390 residing outside the United States.

Society Leadership Council President Sherry McFadden said the new chapters strengthen the organization’s ability to support professionals in emerging markets. She emphasized that local hubs in Romania and West Africa will expand access to education, leadership development, and professional networking while also bringing new regional perspectives into the broader community.

Romania’s new chapter launches with 32 members and aims to support professionals throughout Eastern Europe. Founding leader Paul Dumitru said the chapter reflects shared values of professionalism and integrity, noting the growing need for community and knowledge exchange as the insurance sector adapts to AI advancements and new risk landscapes.

The West Africa chapter, based in Accra, Ghana, begins with 33 members and plans to grow across the region. Founding leader Justice Peprah Agyei said chapter recognition strengthens professional standards and positions West African practitioners more prominently within the Society’s international network.

Both chapters are expected to bolster the Society’s efforts to provide localized professional development and broaden global collaboration. Members will gain access to educational resources, leadership pathways, and a trusted network of peers navigating market-specific challenges and emerging risks.

McFadden said Romania and West Africa represent fast-evolving markets with expanding insurance infrastructures and talent needs. She described the new chapters as a partnership that advances the Society’s mission to elevate the risk management and insurance profession worldwide.
