KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Genesis HealthCare, Inc. announced that 18 of its affiliated skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers have received the 2024 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). This honor acknowledges their dedication to enhancing the lives of residents through high-quality care.

The Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award is the first of three progressive levels in the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program. This program recognizes providers across the nation who demonstrate a commitment to improving care for elders and individuals with disabilities.

Lauren Murray, Senior Vice President of Operations for Genesis HealthCare, expressed pride in the recognized centers. “Quality care is at the core of everything they do. They have demonstrated their commitment to delivering ever-improving quality care to their patients and residents,” she said.

The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program employs a rigorous three-level process reviewed by trained experts. The standards are based on the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, which helps organizations achieve superior performance and improve the quality of life and care for long-term care residents.

To achieve the Bronze level, applicants develop an organizational profile detailing their vision, mission, key customers, and strengths and challenges. They must also demonstrate the use of a performance improvement system. Trained examiners review each application to ensure it meets the criteria. As recipients of the Bronze award, these centers can now progress to the Silver – Achievement in Quality award level.

Cathy Bergland, Chair of the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board, congratulated the recipients. “Receiving this award marks the beginning of an exciting journey towards excellence,” she said. “I encourage each center to celebrate this achievement and continue striving for higher levels of quality and performance.”

The National Quality Awards will be presented at Delivering Solutions 24, the AHCA/NCAL Convention & Expo, scheduled for October 6-9, 2024, in Orlando, Florida.

This recognition is significant for Genesis HealthCare and the broader healthcare community. It highlights efforts to elevate care standards and improve patient outcomes. For residents and their families, it signifies a commitment to quality and safety. As these centers move forward in the award program, they set a benchmark for continuous improvement and excellence in long-term care.
