BERWYN, PA — AscellaHealth said it has formed a Strategic Advisory Council to advise its leadership team on payer strategy and pharmacy benefit solutions as the company expands its services.
The company said the council will include representatives from across the payer landscape and is intended to support efforts to improve access and affordability within the self-insured healthcare market.
Initial members include Bill Winkenwerder, chairman and CEO of Winkenwerder Strategies and former CEO of Highmark Health, and Denise Napier, CEO of VitalGain and former executive at Aetna Better Health and Health Partners Plan.
AscellaHealth said the council will help guide development of its AscellaOne pharmacy benefits marketplace, which is designed to provide pricing transparency and expanded access to specialty pharmacy services.
“Drawing on the expertise of its founding members, AscellaHealth reinforces its ability to anticipate change and design solutions that align patients, providers and payers,” said CEO Dea Belazi.
The company said additional council members will be announced as the group expands.
AscellaHealth provides specialty pharmaceutical services and technology solutions to healthcare organizations and payers.
