Barclay Friends Adds Health, Finance Leaders to Board

WEST CHESTER, PA — Barclay Friends has appointed healthcare advancement executive Laura K. Wortman and financial-services professional Glen Reyburn to its board of directors, adding expertise in fundraising, communications and wealth management to the West Chester organization serving older adults.

Wortman is vice president and chief advancement officer at Penn Medicine Doylestown Health, where she works on advancement strategy and philanthropic engagement. Her career includes leadership roles at academic and healthcare institutions as well as nonprofit board service.

She holds a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania.

Wortman also cited her personal experience helping her parents navigate senior living decisions as shaping her perspective on the importance of care for older adults.

“Laura’s depth of experience in healthcare communication and nonprofit advancement make her a great fit for Barclay Friends,” Chief Executive Officer Maria Santangelo said.

Reyburn brings more than 30 years of experience in private banking, financial planning and wealth management. A Chartered Financial Consultant, she has worked with individuals, families and organizations on financial planning and decision-making.

A longtime Chester County resident, Reyburn has also been involved with regional nonprofit and professional organizations, particularly those supporting older adults, families and mental health services. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Villanova University.

“Glen brings financial expertise and a longstanding dedication to strengthening the organizations that serve our region,” Santangelo said. “Her commitment to older adults and her deep nonprofit involvement across Chester County will add an important perspective to the board.”

Barclay Friends is a Kendal affiliate based in West Chester that provides services for older adults. The organization operates according to Quaker values.
