CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — After a two-year pause due to the pandemic, Saint Elizabeth Parish, in Upper Uwchlan Township, is holding its 10th Stewardship Day of Service on Saturday, April 23.

Parishioners of all ages will spend the day helping local community organizations. Many parish volunteers will do spring planting, painting, packing and sorting of donations, cleaning, and much more. The day will begin with Mass at Saint Elizabeth Church at 8:30 a.m. followed by a light breakfast and brief meeting to explain work assignments Volunteers will then head out in teams to various locations in the Chester County area, in their colorful matching T-shirts (this year, featuring a special 10-year commemorative logo), to tackle half-day and full-day work projects. Some of the sites receiving volunteer help this year include: The Lord’s Pantry in Downingtown; the West Chester Senior Center; ARC of Chester County and a number of other agencies. This year, Saint Elizabeth Parish has added a new weekday option for parishioners to serve in the community: Friday, April 29.

Anne Tymon, Stewardship Day of Service Planning Team Chair, reports: “This service event gives our parishioners an opportunity to provide outreach to the community and make a meaningful difference.” Matthew Pfeiffenberger, Parish Services Director at Saint Elizabeth, notes: “The Parish Mission Statement affirms: … by the conviction of our words, the goodness of our deeds and the witness of our lives, we will reflect the presence of Jesus living within us…. Our Stewardship Day of Service provides parishioners of all ages the opportunity to demonstrate this conviction and to work with one another as we serve others in need in the greater community.”

Saint Elizabeth Parish is located at 100 Saint Elizabeth Dr in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. For more information, visit stelizabethparish.org.
