VALLEY FORGE, PA — The Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge is hosting a joint service of Evensong with the British Officers Club of Philadelphia in memory of Queen Elizabeth II, with prayers for the Accession of the New Monarch, King Charles, III on Monday, September 19 at 11:30 AM.
XVI Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania Bishop Daniel G. P. Gutierrez will join Washington Memorial Chapel’s Rector, Fr. Tommy Thompson, who will be the Officiant for the special 1662 Book of Common Prayer service of Evensong (Note: the 1662 Book of Common Prayer is the official Prayer Book Of The Church Of England).
A traditional English afternoon tea reception will be held at the Chapel in Queen Elizabeth II’s honor. The event is open to the public.
