PHOENIXVILLE, PA — In an extraordinary move to find loving homes for pets in need, Main Line Animal Rescue is participating in the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s nationwide “Empty the Shelters” event this Saturday, May 11. For one day only, all adoption fees for animals aged six months and older will be reduced to just $10, offering a unique opportunity for animal lovers to welcome a new member into their home.

The Pennsylvania SPCA’s Philadelphia, Danville, Lancaster, and Main Line Animal Rescue locations are among more than 350 shelters across 45 states joining the effort from May 1-15. The “Empty the Shelters” event, recognized as the nation’s largest funded adoption initiative, aims to significantly reduce shelter populations by making pet adoption more affordable. With nearly 140,000 pets having found families through these events, the upcoming day promises hope and a fresh start for many animals.

Prospective pet owners are encouraged to visit any of the participating locations this Saturday, including the PSPCA Philadelphia Headquarters, the Danville and Lancaster Centers, and notably, the Main Line Animal Rescue in Phoenixville. Each location will open its doors to the public, offering a chance to meet and adopt pets for a nominal fee, making it easier than ever to provide a forever home to animals in need.

The Main Line Animal Rescue, located at 1149 Pike Springs Road, will host its adoption event from 12 to 5 PM. Meanwhile, the other PSPCA locations will welcome visitors until 6 or 6:30 PM. This initiative not only aids in finding homes for pets but also highlights the ongoing mission of the Pennsylvania SPCA and BISSELL Pet Foundation to support animal welfare and encourage adoption as a first option for adding a pet to the family.
