Chester County Health Inspections Cite Violations at Three Facilities

Food Safety Inspections

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County Health Department reported multiple food safety violations at three facilities during inspections conducted Monday, March 16, 2026, while several other establishments were found to be in compliance.

At Foodery of Phoenixville Inc. in Phoenixville, inspectors cited violations including improper handwashing, food stored at unsafe temperatures, and unclean food preparation areas.

The report stated that the person in charge “does not have adequate knowledge of food safety,” and noted that employees failed to wash hands between tasks.

Inspectors also observed wiping cloths not stored in sanitizer solution and cold food items not maintained at or below 41 degrees Fahrenheit.

Additional violations included unclean equipment, blocked handwashing sinks, and mold-like debris in equipment and floor drains.

At La Pequena Columbia, inspectors cited temperature control and sanitation issues.

Eggs were held at 60 degrees Fahrenheit in a non-functioning cooler, while hot foods including empanadas and rice were held below the required 135 degrees Fahrenheit.

At Ron’s Original Bar & Grille in Lionville, inspectors cited violations related to food temperature control, equipment condition, and menu labeling.

Cold food items including cole slaw and blue cheese crumbles were held above 41 degrees Fahrenheit, and several cooked foods were not reheated to 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Inspectors also cited unclean kitchen equipment and required repairs to food storage units.
