WEST CHESTER, PA — The Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center (226 N. High St., West Chester, PA) will be shamrockin’ and rollin’ this St. Patrick’s Day as it hosts a week of Irish-inspired events including a screening of the iconic film The Quiet Man, a performance by Irish folk artists Whiskey Rovers, and the hilarious comedic entertainment of the Boston Comedy Festival.
Uptown! continues its popular Movie Monday Series with The Quiet Man on Monday, March 14 at 7 PM.Movie fans will journey to 1952 Ireland and watch screen legends John Wayne, Maureen O’ Hara, Barry Fitzgerald, Ward Bond and Victor McLaglen star in this award-winning romantic-comedy-drama, directed by the legendary John Ford. Movie Monday Nights are just $5 and include free hot popcorn.
On St. Patrick’s Day (Thursday,March 17), Uptown! will really get the party started as it presents the music of acclaimed Irish folk trio Whiskey Rovers at 7 PM. Dedicated to authentically replicating Ireland’s classic folk songs, their toe-tapping melodies will fill audiences with the spirit of Irish glee as they take fans on a journey through the musical history of the Emerald Isle. Tickets start at $17.00.
Ending the week on a hysterically funny note, Uptown! will be hosting the comedic stylings of the Boston Comedy Festival, with sets from Celtic comics Kelly MacFarland, Patrick Collins, and Tom Spohn on Friday, March 18 at 8 PM. These three comedians bring all the camaraderie of an Irish pub to the stage and their set will leave audiences feeling like family.

The Quiet Man Screening, Whiskey Rovers and The Boston Comedy Festival are just three of the fantastic acts to come to Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center this March. Other talents include Dueling Pianos (March 24), David Liebman & The Dalí String Quartet Featuring WCU Criterions Jazz Ensemble (March 25), and Best Friend’s Girl: The Cars Experience (March 26).
