MALVERN, PA — An evening of live music, community connection and hands-on music therapy is coming to Malvern as Music Angels Inc. brings its annual “Raising a Note” benefit concert to Villa Maria Academy High School.

The Oct. 25 fundraiser will showcase performers while supporting the student-led nonprofit’s free community performances, music therapy programming, and scholarship opportunities. Admission is free, with fundraising taking place through activities including a silent auction.

Music Angels was launched in 2024 and has grown to more than 70 student volunteers. The volunteer-led nonprofit brings live music and music therapy into senior care facilities, community centers, and other locations throughout the Greater Philadelphia area.

Student President Yee-Yee Li said the organization operates entirely through community funding and volunteers, making “Raising a Note” an opportunity both to introduce more people to its work and raise money to continue it.

Guests can expect live performances, a music therapy workshop, food and other refreshments, a silent auction, and additional activities. Food and refreshments are not included with the free RSVP.

The event is designed to help Music Angels sustain and expand the services its student volunteers provide. Proceeds will support free outreach performances, music therapy programming and scholarship opportunities.

For the young musicians involved, the organization also provides a way to put their musical skills to work outside traditional performances, using music to connect with people throughout the region.

“By attending ‘Raising a Note,’ listening to our performers, participating in our activities, and inviting others to come, you are allowing us to continue and expand our services,” the organization told prospective attendees.
