IMMACULATA UNIVERSITY, PA — Chester County residents, mark your calendars for a festive event that promises to be a delightful start to the holiday season. On Sunday, Dec. 3, the Immaculata Symphony will present its annual Christmas concert, “The Holly and the Ivory,” at Alumnae Hall on the Immaculata University campus. The concert begins at 3 p.m., and the public is warmly invited to attend.

The Immaculata Symphony has a rich history dating back to the University’s founding in 1920. As a university-community organization, it has consistently delivered outstanding performances that have become an integral part of the cultural fabric of Chester County.

This year’s Christmas concert, directed by Music Director Joseph Gehring, will feature a selection of festive works for piano and orchestra. In a special treat, several pianists from the university will join the orchestra in performing beloved holiday pieces. And in a tradition that’s always a crowd favorite, the concert will include an audience sing-along to kick off the Christmas season.

Joseph Gehring brings a wealth of experience and talent to his role as director of the concert. Serving as chair of the Immaculata University Music Department and director of ensembles, Gehring was appointed music director of the Immaculata Symphony in 2011. He is also the conductor of the West Chester Band and Chesco Pops Orchestra and is a sought-after guest conductor throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Tickets to this festive event are priced at $10, with free admission for children under 12. They can be purchased on the day of the event or online at the Immaculata Symphony website.
