KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Craft beer may be the main attraction, but live bands, canned cocktails, backyard games and new ways to stay refreshed are adding to the experience when thousands of festivalgoers descend on Kennett Square for the 29th Annual Kennett Brewfest.
The festival returns Saturday, Oct. 10, at 600 S. Broad Street, with its General Session running from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Proceeds from Kennett Collaborative’s largest annual fundraiser support community events, placemaking initiatives, the KSQ Farmers Market and other programs throughout the year.
Two bands will provide the soundtrack for this year’s festivities. Lazy Villains will perform from noon to 2:15 p.m., followed by Tucked In from 2:45 to 5 p.m. Music begins during the sold-out Connoisseur Session and continues throughout the General Session.
Beer remains at the center of Brewfest, but organizers are broadening the beverage selection this year with more ready-to-drink cocktails and spirits-based offerings.
Festivalgoers will be able to sample canned vodka cocktails and other beverages from brands including Not Pizza, Fishtown Iced Tea, Lancaster Craft Spirits Distillery, Super Lyte Vodka + Ade, Top Dog Cocktails and 2Moods, among others.
The additions also expand the festival’s gluten-free selections while introducing guests to more regional and emerging beverage makers.
“Brewfest has always been about bringing people together around great craft beer, and we’re excited to keep building on that tradition,” Kennett Collaborative Executive Director Daniel Embree said.
“This year’s additions give people even more ways to enjoy the afternoon, whether they’re discovering a new brewery, listening to live music, trying something beyond beer, or just spending time with friends,” Embree said. “It’s a great day in Kennett Square that also helps support the public events and community work we do here all year long.”
Keeping hydrated will be easier this year through an in-kind sponsorship from Liquid Death. Complimentary canned still mountain water, soda-flavored sparkling water and zero-sugar energy drinks will be available throughout the festival.
Organizers are also adding activities for guests looking for something to do between tastings.
The YMCA Fit Truk will invite attendees to try different movements and test their strength, while the Backyard BBQ presented by Ace Hardware of Kennett Square will offer a more laid-back gathering spot with cornhole, Adirondack chairs and smoked Cheez-Its.
