PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The historic Colonial Theatre has announced an expansive fall 2025 lineup, promising a season filled with acclaimed film festivals, live music, special screenings, and cultural events that highlight the theatre’s role as a regional hub for arts and entertainment.
The season kicks off with the third annual Phoenixville Film Festival, running September 18–21, featuring four days of independent cinema, filmmaker panels, workshops, and a closing awards ceremony. Fans of classic cinema can also look forward to the return of NOIR CITY, a three-day film noir showcase hosted by Eddie Muller, president of the Film Noir Foundation, from November 14–16. This year’s festival will spotlight women whose performances helped define the genre.
Live music takes center stage with a diverse concert series. Indie folk and rock group Tucked In will perform on September 12 as part of their 2025 Roughest Roads Tour, with local artist James Clark opening. Guitar virtuoso Eric Johnson headlines on October 1, while tribute bands Know Return and Fooling Ourselves will bring the music of Kansas and Styx to life on November 8. Comedy also returns with the improv troupe Better Than Bacon on September 26.
The Colonial’s programming embraces cultural celebrations, including Hispanic Heritage Month screenings of beloved films like Selena, Disney’s Encanto, and the 1953 Mexican drama El. October’s lineup leans into Halloween, featuring an all-night horror-thon and special screenings of classics such as Ghostbusters, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloween, Nosferatu, and The Sixth Sense. Fans can also join themed events like a Rocky Horror Picture Show 50th anniversary celebration, complete with a flash mob and costume contest.
Originally built in 1902, the Colonial Theatre remains a Chester County landmark and draws more than 70,000 visitors annually. Following a 2017 expansion, the venue now houses three theatres across two historic buildings, offering a blend of classic charm and modern amenities.
With its mix of film, music, comedy, and community programming, the Colonial Theatre’s 2025 fall season aims to deliver something for everyone while preserving its legacy as a premier cultural destination in Phoenixville.
