MALVERN, PA — The cherished spirit of the season comes alive once again at People’s Light, where a new staging of A Christmas Carol invites audiences to rediscover Dickens’ timeless tale of redemption, generosity, and joy. Running daily from November 19 through January 4, 2026, this beloved production promises an enchanting experience for families and theatre lovers alike.
Directed by Molly Rosa Houlahan, this inventive adaptation by Zak Berkman, featuring original music and arrangements by Mitch Chakour, blends classic English carols with fresh compositions to create an atmosphere both nostalgic and new. Company artist Ian Merrill Peakes takes on the role of Scrooge, delivering a performance that captures both the humor and heart of this enduring ghost story.
Presented on the Leonard C. Haas Stage, this A Christmas Carol is not just a retelling—it’s a celebration of community, transformation, and the enduring warmth of the holidays.
To make the experience even more festive, People’s Light is offering Holiday Family Packages, with savings of 15% for groups of eight or more and even higher discounts for larger gatherings. Each child in the group receives a complimentary fresh-baked cookie, a small but joyful reminder of the season’s sweetness.
Accessibility and inclusion are central to this year’s celebration. The December 7 performance at 2 p.m. will feature a Relaxed Performance, offering a welcoming “shush-free” environment, along with audio description, ASL interpretation, and a pre-show sensory tour at 1 p.m. From December 30 through January 4, Open Captioning will be available, and Smart Caption Glasses are offered throughout the run, providing real-time captions directly on the lenses.
Audiences can also enjoy a special pre-show event, Tales with Tom, on Sunday, December 14, at 1 p.m. Local legend Tom Teti will perform an original holiday piece filled with wit and wisdom before the afternoon matinee. Admission to this event is free with RSVP, and attendance does not require a ticket to A Christmas Carol.
Additionally, People’s Light offers Access Dates for select performances—December 10 at 7 p.m. and December 30 at 2 p.m.—with tickets priced at $30, no promo code needed.
