POTTSTOWN, PA — The Owen J. Roberts School Board voted unanimously to appoint Warren Chester to serve as a board member during a special meeting on Feb. 13. Chester’s appointment fills the vacancy created in January when former school board member Paul Friel resigned after winning election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Chester will serve the remainder of Friel’s term, which is set to expire in December 2023.
Chester was one of two candidates interviewed by all eight members of the school board during Monday’s special meeting. During the interview, candidates provided additional details about their qualifications and priorities for the school district.
In addition to his responsibilities with Owen J. Roberts, Chester serves as Manager of IT Delivery for Vanguard Enterprise Advice. He earned his bachelor’s degree in computer information science and software development from Kutztown University. A Philadelphia native, Chester and his family reside in East Vincent Township.
