TOUGHKENAMON, PA — Families and residents will get their first public look inside the newly constructed New Garden Elementary School this weekend as the Kennett Consolidated School District celebrates the completion of a major investment in local education.
The district will hold a grand opening Saturday, Oct. 3, with music, a formal dedication ceremony and public tours of the new building at 265 New Garden Road.
The school serves approximately 500 students in first through fifth grades, making the celebration both a milestone for Kennett-area families and a rare opportunity for the wider community to explore the learning spaces now being used by students and staff.
“This beautiful new school represents far more than an investment in a building—it is an investment in generations of Kennett students,” Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Rizzo Saunders said.
She connected the project to the district’s broader goals for school facilities and learning environments.
“Our strategic plan challenges us to provide safe, modern and inspiring environments that support meaningful learning, collaboration and opportunity for every student,” Saunders said. “New Garden Elementary brings that commitment to life and demonstrates why the future truly is Better in Kennett.”
Guests will be able to walk through the new school following the dedication and see firsthand how the building has been designed to support elementary students and staff.
