WEST CHESTER, PA — This past Saturday, the West Chester University Golden Rams baseball team reached the PSAC Championship game for the second time in three seasons. Coming off a strong 39-10 season, they put up a great fight but ultimately fell just short in a tight 2-1 loss to Millersville.

“All in all, I’m very happy with how we competed all Tournament long,” said head coach Mike LaRosa. “I think we also learned some important things about ourselves this week that will help us prepare for Regionals next week.”

Even after the loss, the team received some outstanding news the following day when they were selected as the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. West Chester will host the entire regional at Serpico Stadium, the fourth time in the last five seasons they’ve had home-field advantage for the event. They’ll welcome fourth-seeded East Stroudsburg and fifth-seeded Bloomsburg.

The tournament opens Thursday morning, May 14, with East Stroudsburg facing Bloomsburg. The loser of that game will then meet the Golden Rams at 2:00 p.m. in an elimination contest.

As per West Chester University’s website: tickets are $10 per day for adults and $5 per day for students and senior citizens. No passes or comp tickets will be accepted. All tickets must be purchased on-site the day of the game. It is cashless, only major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are accepted.

If a team is knocked out on Thursday, West Chester will move into a best-of-three series against the winner of the opening matchup beginning Friday. One game is scheduled for Friday, while the remaining game, and an if-necessary deciding game, would be played Saturday.

The winner of this pod will advance to Super Regionals the following weekend to take on the winner of the Millersville pod. That victor earns hosting rights for the Atlantic Region portion of the Division II National Finals in Cary, North Carolina, later this month.

Heading into the 2026 season, LaRosa’s record with the Golden Rams stood at 166-72 overall (.697 winning percentage) and 93-45 in conference play (.674).

The Golden Rams won the Division II National Championship in 2012 and 2017. They enter this NCAA Tournament hoping to secure their first regional win since 2023 after going 0-2 at home in both the 2024 and 2025 tournaments.
